I am married (Bridget, a native Washingtonian) with 4 children (Madeleine 15, Quinn 13, Will 10, Maeve 6). We moved from
Northern Virginia into the District a little over 3 years ago. My son Quinn played in CapCity for 5 seasons (spring and fall) including on the most recent 12 year old all star team. Quinn continues to play at the u14/15 level. My son Will has also played in CapCity for 5 seasons and expects to play for the next three years.
I played baseball through high school and a year of college and have coached or helped coach more than 20 boys and girls youth baseball teams, 4 boys youth football teams, and 6 girls and boys youth basketball teams.
I am the currently the CCLL Majors commissioner and the manager of the Majors Cubs.
I have served on the CCLL board for one year. During my time on the board I have tried to focus on the issues that help to improve the quality of play throughout our league. While here I have been fortunate enough to develop relationships with several of the people who have meant so much to youth baseball in DC for so many years…..Bob Talbot, long time athletic director at Catholic University; Brendan Sullivan, Headfirst; Mark Gibbs, Head Coach St. Johns College High School; Joe Dempsey, Head coach Pacers; Kevin Gibbs, Diamond Skills Baseball Clinics. If elected again I will continue to rely on them for their help, support, and advice, and together with my own experience we will help our kids improve and be prepared for life after little league…….whatever that is. I have also been coordinating CCLL’s involvement with The
Positive Coaching Alliance and if elected again I plan on adding to our commitment with them and increasing their exposure throughout our league.
My ultimate goal is to help shape a league that is committed to making sure that all of our kids are safe, interested, and learning how to play baseball and softball.
