Board Elections

CCLL SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBERS

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING & ELECTIONS

Capitol City Little League (CCLL)  is seeking volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors. Our league welcomes -- and depends on -- the efforts of those who give of their time and talent to help organize the league at all levels.   All those who feel they have contributions to make to Cap City Little League are encouraged to run for the Board.

Interested in volunteering with CCLL? The CCLL Board is hosting a “meet and greet” on Thursday, October 27thfrom 8:00pm-9:00pm @ Jake’s on Connecticut Ave.  This is your opportunity to come meet the CCLL leadership team and ask questions about volunteering or hear what is like to join the CCLL Board of Directors from our current members.

Prospective candidates should note that serving on the CCLL Board requires not only regular attendance at CCLL Board meetings, but active and consistent work in a variety of areas related to the smooth operation of the League, including: financial and organizational management; communications; coach and volunteer recruitment, training and management; safety and insurance; field permits and maintenance; compliance with Little League International standards and regulation; and more.

We hope that all those who might be willing to serve CCLL in this way will consider running for one of the open Board seats.  More on the selection process appears below, or if you have any questions or need more information, please emailcapcitypresident@gmail.com.

  • All interested candidates should compose a one paragraph candidate statement and submit it to capcitylittleleague@gmail.com no later than Friday, November 11th.  Examples of past candidate statements can be found here.
  • Candidate statements will then be sent out to the League, and posted on the League website, over the weekend following November 11th.
  • All Cap City parents and coaches are invited to the Annual Meeting that takes place on Monday, November 14th (info below).  Candidates will have a chance to make a statement that evening.
  • Candidate's written statements and a link to an online ballot will be sent out league-wide after the Annual Meeting and voting will remain open for several days before closing at 5pm on Friday, November 18th.

Please save the date for the Annual Meeting of Capitol City Little League --Monday, November 14th at 8:00 pm in the basement of the Parthenon Restaurant, 5510 Connecticut Avenue NW.  Light appetizers will be provided, and there will be a cash bar.
