6U Rising Stars Softball

5 and 6 Year Olds (Girls Only)

The 6U Rising Stars division is a T-ball league for Cap City’s youngest female players.

The emphasis is on fun and skills development. Teams will practice once a week and will play intasquad games at the end of each session.

Girls are introduced to the basics of hitting, catching, throwing, fielding and base running in a non-competitive environment. Each player has the opportunity to come to bat and run the bases each inning. Outs are not kept at this level.

8U Shooting Stars Softball

7 and 8 Year Olds (Girls Only)

The 8U division is a coach-pitch league for Cap City’s younger female players.

The emphasis is on fun and skills development. The plan is for teams practice and play intasquad games once a week, but that could change if enough players sign up to allow us to field multiple teams.

Girls are introduced to the basics of hitting, catching, throwing, fielding and base running in a non-competitive environment. Each player has the opportunity to come to bat and run the bases each inning. Outs are not kept at this level.

10U Minors Softball

9 and 10 Year Olds (Girls Only)

The 10U division is for girls who are still learning to play the game and developing basic skills like hitting, catching, throwing and base running.

At the 10U level we introduce girl pitch but modify the rules—including some coach pitching-- so that the pace of the game remains active. The 10U player is still a beginner but learning the skills to advance to the next level.

Teams practice once a week and play on Sunday afternoons.

12U Majors Softball

11 and 12 Year Olds (Girls Only)

Players in the 12U division, while they may still be first-time players, will have the ability and skills to play by almost all the accepted rules, including sliding, stealing, dropped third-strike, and infield fly.

This division sees an increased speed of the pitched ball and an increased number of defensive plays. All girls in this division should be ready to hit a pitched ball and know the rules of the game.

Teams practice once a week, with an optional second practice, and play games on Sunday afternoons.

14U Juniors Softball

13 and 14 Year Olds (Girls Only)

The 14U division comprises players who have demonstrated skills commensurate with the highest level of play that CCLL has to offer.

The 14U division has faster/better pitching and an overall higher quality of play than 12U. Although this division is still skill-based and recreational, and there are no try-outs, girls should come ready to play the game more competitively.

Teams practice once or twice a week and play games on Saturday or Sunday.
